About Dr. Alicia Gómez

Hola and Welcome!

I am a Bilingual Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with a virtual private practice in California. I provide online therapy to residents of California and Florida in English and Spanish.

I received my Master’s degree in Multicultural Counseling in San Diego, California and my Doctorate Degree in Marital and Family Therapy in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

Prior to working in private practice, I served as a professor at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) and at the University of Southern California (USC) where I taught aspiring therapists in Marriage and Family Therapy graduate programs.

Clinically, I have worked at community mental health centers serving children, adolescents, and adults facing a variety of mental health challenges including anxiety, depression, sexual violence, trauma, self-esteem challenges, break-ups, grief/loss, and overcoming transitions in life. I also work with couples and help them break through communication challenges, reconnect, embrace their unique dance, and create rich fulfilling chapters with one another.

I have a passion for having intentional conversations that help people live more aligned, confident, whole, and fulfilling lives.

On my personal time, I absolutely enjoy being still near the ocean, taking in the sun rays, travel, and spending quality time with loved ones.

At It’s a Vibe Therapy & Wellness, I seek to create a safe atmosphere and a warm ambiance as I journey alongside of you and the challenges that life presents your way.

You can expect to examine habitual thinking/feeling patterns, explore limiting beliefs, challenge and change the way you relate to your thoughts/feelings, deepen self-love, and find alignment with your mind/body/spirt. We’ll also look for glimmers in your life and will incorporate your strengths, resilience, wisdom, and post-traumatic growth into your healing journey.

My final mission is to help people heal in community. Healing in community offers many transformative benefits that go beyond what one can experience in 1:1 therapy/coaching.
